Our families were very close and always there for each other.Years later, when I was a teenager, Uncle Audie had been in Japan filming “Joe Butterfly” where he met a young, Japanese girl whose father was a Marine in WWII and had been killed, which left Caroline and her mother orphaned and widowed.
